On October 5th took place the famous “Nuit Blanche”, a night of movement, creativity, poetry and extravagance. It is the not be missed meeting of contemporary art, the opportunity to discover new views on the town, to cross and meet in the public space contemporary artwork, but also performances and lectures. At the centre of the main public spaces as in more secret ones, you can discover remarkable pieces of art created by artists from all over the world.
Through different itineraries, artistic, unusual and architectural installations were set up in the streets, in the squares and some museums, offering a new vision of the known neighbourhoods of Paris and some close towns as well.
Indeed, we met a musical parade on Rivoli street with musicians, singers, orchestras, DJs, dancers and creative floats. Under the starry sky, we could see the athletes doing the 8km long crossing around the Parisian monuments.
During that night, a part of ring road, from the Porte de Pantin to Porte de la Villette was closed to cars and turned into a bright and musical area. Numerous museums had opened their doors for a large part of the night, La Philarmonie de Paris, La Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, Le Musée Picasso, Le Musée d’Art et Métier, L’Opéra Comique, le Centre Pompidou.
People could also discover and live unusual experiences, in some churches, audio-visual and artistic performances took us out of time! 2019 Nuit Blanche also took place in the suburban areas, with numerous artistic performances opened to all!
Major Parisian event, it keeps on delighting audiences of big and small and is now available in other countries to allow the art to develop and be accessible to all. If you are as charmed as us by this Nuit Blanche which had Artempo amazed, then see you next year!
