ARTEMPO

ICART and Artempo, an artistic partnership

Case study May 28, 2024

Since the 2018 edition Artempo has been supporting ICART, the school of cultural and art market management, for its ‘Prix ICART Artistik Rezo’ event.

The ICART Artistik Rezo Prize, created in 2008 and organized each year in association with Artistik Rezo by first-year MBA students in ‘International Art Market’ and ‘Cultural Engineering and Mediation’ at L’ICART, aims to reward and reveal emerging talent on the contemporary art scene.

It acts as a real springboard for young artists, encouraging the discovery of promising talent, but the originality of this prize also lies in its combination of emergence and professionalization.

For the 16th edition, which marks the 10th anniversary of its collaboration with the Artistik Rezo association, the ICART Artistik Rezo Prize is exploring the theme of ‘Matter of Being’.

“A deliberately ambiguous expression, Matière d’Être (Matter of Being) is at once an exploration of materials, a reflection on existence, matter as existence, transformation and evolution, and interconnection”.

It took place at the Bastille Design Center, a new exhibition venue. 15 artists were able to present their creations on March 11 and 12, accompanied by a retrospective of former candidates exhibiting works from their collections.

During the exhibition evening, the Jury Prize and Public Prize trophies, products of the collaboration between ICART and ARTEMPO, were awarded two winners, Valentine Cotte and Lucie Herlemont.

While L’ICART and ARTEMPO are linked by art and the design of artistic objects, they also share a commitment to CSR.

It is from these three concepts – eco-responsibility, raw materials and art – that the trophies for this 16th edition were born: a mix of oak wood and PMMA scrap.

Once again, we’re delighted to have been able to take part and make our contribution to this cultural and artistic event. We are looking forward to discovering the winners of future editions.
